Stephanie and David had been through a whirlwind for their elopement. After multiple reschedules thanks to Covid, and working with several busy national parks, we finally obtained a permit for them to elope in Glacier National park out in Montana.
I arrived in the park about a week before they did to do all my prep work. I trekked through several parts of the park that I had been scouting online to make sure the spots I was looking at for their ceremony were not online safe and accessible, but fit their vision for the day. We agreed on a spot over FaceTime, and eagerly waited for the big day to arrive.
Their elopement day was nothing short of amazing. What was once originally a huge, extravagant wedding was transformed to an intimate gathering of family and close friends. Stephanie and David spent the whole day laughing, relaxing, and enjoying a peaceful day with loved ones before making their commitments to each other at sunset by a gorgeous lake.
Honestly, it was such a humbling reminder to me of just how unique and personal elopements can be. You can make the day all about you, instead of the hassle and fuss of entertaining hundreds of people. There wasn’t a single part of the day where anyone was really stressed or taken out of the moment. It was a day dedicated solely to them, and celebrating their journey together.
